A tenuous order emerging within disorder. A circular shape hovers against a restless field of burnt oranges and deep browns, its boundary both containing and permeable. Within and around it, marks collide, scatter, and reconfigure, suggesting fragments of thought in motion - offered, absorbed and altered. The circle acts less as a barrier than a meeting point, a space where chaos is momentarily held, sifted and returned. What unfolds is not resolution, but circulation: ideas passing through, reshaped by contact, leaving traces of their movement in the surface they inhabit.
Employing scraps of cardboard and newsprint as a base layer, and gradually built up with gesso, sand and layers of acrylic and household emulsion paints, before a final light layer of oils. The black border brings an element of order and structure to a chaotic and vibrant composition.
