Underlayers constructed of pages from Edgar Allan Poe's "The Black Cat" short story, with several light layers of acrylics on top. Minimal use of oils and solvents were then applied on top. Scratches and rough surface texture add tension to this piece. Unframed, canvas edges are painted black and the painting is ready to hang.
